October 7th

We have discovered what compost is and how worms help the composting process. The class learned how worms move without any arms or legs and how worms breathe. Students are exploring our classroom worms and watching them eat the table scraps.

Parts of a book- Front and rear cover, title, author and illustrator, words, pictures, and spine.
How to read a book- Start on the first page, read from left to right, start at the top and work our way down.

Ask your children the trick we learned, ask them about "bed" to identify lower "b" and "d".

Sight words- A, I, see, you, and the.

Special words- Alarm, noise, friend, love, and compost.

We are practicing our numbers 1 through 10.

We practice letter writing and name writing. This is an activity that you can do at home to support your children.

During the course of the day, students do many activities and we are working on playing nicely with others and making friends. This is a very brief highlight of some of the items we are working on.
